Write Better Reddit Titles (and Opening Lines)
Good titles get clicks; good first lines get replies. Here’s a simple structure you can reuse in any subreddit.
TL;DR: Be specific → add context → include constraints → ask one clear question.
Title Formula
- [Goal] + [Context] + (Constraint)
- Example: “Best way to learn X as a beginner (30 min/day)?”
- Example: “Post removed — which rule did I break?”
Opening Lines Formula
- Who you are / situation (1 line)
- What you want (1 line)
- What you tried + constraint (1–2 lines)
Don’t guess formats: some subreddits require specific title patterns or flair.

Quick Examples (Better vs Worse)
- Better: “Which of these 3 subreddits fits X content best?”
- Worse: “Where do I post?”
- Better: “New account: how to earn karma without spamming?”
- Worse: “Need karma”
